Hermes OS Backup
Information about the owner's private backup setup. This is not a public backup service and it does not provide visitor accounts.
A synthetic Restic backup has been encrypted, checked, and restored successfully. No real application or service data is currently being backed up.
How it works
Restic encrypts selected application and service data on the owner's server. rclone transfers the encrypted repository to the owner's Google Drive. Ubuntu system files are excluded and will be reinstalled separately during recovery.
Backup authorization
The Google authorization is for the personal backup client only, using the drive.file scope. It is not sign-in for Hermes OS, notes, finance, or other services. The OAuth app is External and in production, so other Google accounts may authorize it; each grant is limited to that account's own files. Only the owner's account is intended for this backup.
